Uniform
Here at Hook Norton School we request that children arrive at school each day in the correct uniform. We are believers that wearing a uniform enables children to feel proud to be a part of the school and give them a real sense of belonging.
All items are standard school wear and can be purchased from the shop of your choice. We do however ask that they adhere to our guidelines as follows;
School uniform
- Navy, grey or black trousers, shorts or skirt
- White or navy polo tops, shirts or blouse
- Blue gingham school dress
- Navy jumper or cardigan
- White or plain dark socks or navy / grey tights
- Smart dark coloured closed toe shoes with no heel. Please ensure you do not provide laces until your child can do these up unaided. No trainers.
PE kit
- Navy or black shorts
- Navy or black tracksuit
- Trainers – please ensure you do not provide laces until your child can do these up unaided
- T-shirt in the colour of your child's house
For items with the school logo, these can be purchased from Price & Buckland. Please note these often have a 6 week lead time.
All items of clothing should be clearly marked with your child's name.
Second hand uniform
We have a large selection of pre-loved items waiting for their new home. If you’d like to enquire about this, please contact FOHNS fohns2020@gmail.com
School bags
In Early Years and KS1 children should bring a bookbag to school each day. This should be clearly named. Branded bags are available from Price & Buckland. Backpacks are not allowed at this stage of the school.
In KS2 children are welcome to bring a backpack.
Water bottles
Please provide your child with a named plastic water bottle. This should be taken home daily. This should only contain water. No squash or fizzy drinks.
Spare clothes
Children in Nursery, Reception and KS1 should have a named bag in school at all times containing spare clothes.
Not suitable for school
Jewellery is not permitted in school with the exception of a watch. If your child has their ears pierced, only small studs are allowed. Your child must be able to remove these unaided for any P.E. lessons. Please provide a container for these to be kept in.
We ask that you support the school by not sending your child to school wearing make-up.
Medication
If your child has any prescribed medication such as an epi-pen or inhaler, please inform the office.
Schools have no legal obligation to administer medicines, however, office staff members have agreed to do so on a voluntary basis. If your child needs to take prescribed medicine during the day, please hand the medicine in its original container (we cannot accept decanted doses) to the office staff and complete a consent form. The school cannot accept responsibility for the administration of medicine. We can only administer medicines prescribed by a doctor. Please do not allow your child to bring in over-the-counter lozenges or herbal remedies.
